26 Dec Event Technology for the Visit of Pope Francis in Belgium 2024
When OneTec was approached to assist with one of Belgium’s most significant events in 2024—the Papal visit—we immediately recognized it as an incredible opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities in event technology solutions. The last time Belgium hosted a Papal visit was in 1995, and this unique event presented a rare chance for us to showcase what OneTec can do, while also pushing ourselves to meet the challenges of such a high-profile occasion.
OneTec’s involvement in the Papal visit extended to all aspects of the event’s event management technology. One of our primary responsibilities was the development of a robust event registration platform. This platform was crucial for managing the thousands of attendees—from bishops and religious leaders to security personnel and the press. Each individual was required to sign up, with pictures and credentials, ensuring smooth and secure entry to the event. Our registration platform helped streamline this process, providing an organized system that kept everything running efficiently from the outset. Another critical part of our role involved designing and printing all of the event badges, lanyards, bracelets, and VIP pins for distinguished guests. These materials were essential in ensuring clear identification and easy access control. Whether it was clergy members, high-ranking officials, or event staff, OneTec made sure that all badges were printed with high-quality materials, clearly marking each participant’s role and access level. The VIP pins and bracelets provided an added layer of distinction for special guests, ensuring they received the appropriate level of attention and access.
On-site, OneTec played an important role in the event’s security operations, managing IT rentals and providing real-time scanning services for attendees. Our team implemented real-time attendee verification software that enabled instant confirmation of each individual’s credentials. This service ensured that only authorized personnel could enter restricted areas, improving overall event security.
Our team worked around the clock to ensure everything ran smoothly. We also thank our partners for their trust and collaboration throughout this remarkable experience.
OneTec’s involvement in the Papal visit to Belgium stands as a testament to our expertise in event technology solutions. Our comprehensive approach to event registration, badging, security verification, and IT rentals demonstrated our ability to deliver on complex, high-profile projects. We are proud of the role we played in such a historic event and look forward to continuing to lead the way in event management technology for future events.
